Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital launch ‘Click for Clots’

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital has created a dedicated anticoagulation website called ‘Click for Clots’. Accessible from the hospitals intranet, the site offers an integrated resource for health care professionals involved in the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism.

The new site includes a dedicated clot prevention section, which offers easy access to the local Thrombosis Risk Assessment (TRA) and reminds everyone that the TRA must be completed for all adult in-patients.  The site is accessed via a prominent red blood cell logo, which featured heavily in the launch of the site.

Dr Jennie Wimperis, Consultant Haematologist and member of the Hospital’s Thrombosis Committee said “The idea is to have a resource linking together all the relevant information for VTE management, including guidelines, education, patient information, audit reports, and other materials related to anticoagulation and thromboprophylaxis available at the click of a button. Since launch in early February, the feedback has been extremely positive. We hope this will have a significant impact on ensuring VTE risk assessment happens for all adult in-patients”.
