On Wednesday 16 June, Professor Gerard Stansby will chair a meeting at the Cavendish Conferece Centre in London, entitled, 'Delivering the National Quality Standards for Venous Thromboembolism', at which venous thromboembolism will be discussed as the top clinical priority for improving quality and productivity in hospitals in 2010/2011.

On Wednesday 7 July, the Health Service Journal present, 'Assessing and Reducing the Risk of Venous Thromboembolism' – a meeting to take place at the ICC in Birmingham. Topics covered will include:
- Measuring the patient experience to ensure you meet CQUIN goals for VTE
- Developing effective Venous Thromboembolism pathways
- Identifying key areas for improvements locally to safeguard the wellbeing of patients
- Supporting and training multi-disciplinary teams to ensure early identification and detection of VTE
- Mobilising pharmacists in Venous Thromboembolism prevention.
